Customs reforms underway in Armenia: President Sargsyan visits Bagratashen check point
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan visited today Ayrum-Jiliza check point and Bagratashen state border check point. President conducted a consultation at Bagratashen check point, with participation of the chairman of the State Revenues Committee Gagik Khachatryan, other representatives. Following the consultation, G. Khachatryan told reporters that customs reforms are always focused by President.
According to Khachatryan, the issue of having check points meeting the international standards is particularly considered a priority during the process of the reforms. Easing procedures for those crossing borders is underway and today they need 3 documents instead of the previous 7 ones, he said.
For the implementation of check point reforms international contest has been announced. The works will launch after the winning projects are determined.
