 Parliamentary election campaign in Azerbaijan is coming to its end since the elections are scheduled on November 7. Both foreign and Azerbaijani mass media publications covered the electoral campaign and infringements. Parallel to this, Azerbaijani authorities endeavor to display that they have everything under control and make their “general” statements over the resolution of NK conflict.

Panorama.am asked the head of PR department of NK President’s Staff Davit Babayan to have a little discussion over those issues.

“A strange “culture” has been formed in Azerbaijani concerning the state reconstruction, democracy and NK conflict resolution. Their constitution defines Azerbaijan as a democratic state and the authorities make efforts to correspond to it. But the reality is that in Azerbaijan democracy is deeply violated both in domestic issues and in conflict related talks,” NK official said.

Talking about Azerbaijan’s domestic life, NK official stated it’s common knowledge that Azerbaijan is a khanate and Aliyev’s family is a royal family and “playing” democracy reinforces its power attempting to get country’s riches.

“As for Azerbaijani-Karabakhi conflict resolution, Azerbaijan makes speeches of democracy but breaks its principles having unrecognized the self-determination right of Artsakh.”
