Sarkozy promulgated highly controversial pension bill
French President Nicolas Sarkozy promulgated Wednesday the highly controversial pension reform bill into law one day after the top constitutional supervising body approved it.
Sarzoky signed the bill in the morning, hours after the highest ruling body Constitutional Council adopted the reform bill on Tuesday afternoon, hoping to end two-month fierce rows with trade unions and oppositions.
According to French law, the president has 15 days to promulgate the law after validation by the Constitutional Council.
The leader of opposition Social Party Martine Aubry denounced Sarkozy's acting "brutality," blaming him too stubborn to listen to the public.
