International organizations deeply condemn Azerbaijani authorities
Nine international organizations protecting freedom of speech and expression in Azerbaijan, and violation reporters’ writes have deeply condemned Azerbaijani authorities, “Turan” news agency reported.
The organizations released a statement which states that Azerbaijani authorities are condemned for not committing their duties over the freedom of speech. “We’re deeply concerned with infringements of freedom of speech, which makes it evident that the elections were not fair and trusty.”
The international organizations highly recommended Azerbaijani authorities to release jailed reporters, to punish those who pursued them, to unblock the banned websites, to guarantee pluralism on TV, unblock banned western radio stations in Azerbaijan.
The statement was signed by “ARTICLE 19”, “Freedom House”, “Human Rights House Foundation”, “İndex on Censorship”, “International Federation of Journalists”, “Media Diversity Institute”, “Norwegian Helsinki Committee”, “Reporters Without Borders”, “World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers”.
