“Locomotive depot of Sanahin will not be liquidated”
The locomotive depot of Sanahin will not be liquidated, simply things have been changed, Vahe Davtyan, the head of PR department of “South Caucasus Railways” told the reporters Tuesday. “I can understand those who think of its strategic loss. But the depot will not be liquidated or ruined, Sanahin depot will keep its strategic significance,” V. Davtyan said.
Referring to strategy, company’s official said that they carry out significant strategic projects with Armenia. For example, Vanadzor-Fioletovo 30km long railway section which has significant economic meaning for the country.
V. Davtyan said Sanahin locomotive depot is economically unproductive. “We’ve talked to local staff, they keep their positions with higher salaries and the depot doesn’t lose its strategy. Simply it’s not beneficial for the company to keep that depot,” he said.
