S. Krmoyan: Ministry controls every lot of drugs imported to Armenia
Ara Baloyan, Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Health Care, addressing the Armenian Pharmaceutical Competitiveness Third International Conference prioritized legislative regulation to ensure development of pharmaceutical sector.
“NA Standing Committee will soon launch discussions of the bill On Drugs. We hope this bill will answer all questions, will create a system to ensure drugs quality,” Babloyan said.
According to Suren Krmoyan, Legal Adviser to the Minister of Health, the reforms implemented in the sector aim to raise quality, efficiency of drugs.
“Armenia has sufficient capacities in this sector. We exercise efficient control over drugs import. The Ministry controls every lot of drugs imported to Armenia,” Suren Krmoyan said.
He prioritized economic and physical availability of drugs saying that in 2011 the Ministry will focus on development of pharmaceutical sector, ensuring efficiency and security of drugs. State regulation of drug prices is also being addressed.
Note that the Armenian Pharmaceutical Competitiveness Third International Conference was organized by USAID-funded CAPS Project and Union of Medicine Producers and Importers.
