U.S. to support Turkey’s membership inside EU
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made remarks with Austrian Foreign Minister Michael Spindelegger after their meeting. Ms. Clinton referred to the theme of Turkey’s membership to the European Union.
According to Turkish “Anadolu” news agency, Clinton said U.S. supports Turkey’s membership inside the EU.
“With respect to Turkey, the United States, along with many other countries in Europe, supports the membership of Turkey inside the EU. I know that it is an issue that divides the European Union. We don’t have a vote, but if we were a member, we would be strongly in favor of it,” Hillary Clinton said.
