EMI made its contribution to the project of Gyumri music school rebuilding
EMI Music Sound Foundation made its contribution to the project of Gyumri N6 music school rebuilding. EMI Music Sound Foundation transferred USD 3.180 to the special account, opened in Yerevan for school rebuilding.
Sir Paul McCartney, Sir George Martin, Yoko Ono, Sir Cliff Richard, Tina Turner are among the patrons of EMI Music Sound Foundation.
Gyumri N6 music school rebuilding program within the framework of Rock Aid Armenia project is jointly realized by Mediamax, Australian “Do Something” non-governmental organization, Fund for Armenian Relief (FAR), given support of the President and the government of Armenia.
Active participants of the project are rock musicians Ian Gillan (Deep Purple) and Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell).
In October, 2010, Ian Gillan and Tony Iommi, Jon Lord (ex-Deep Purple), Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden) and Jason Newsted (ex-Metallica) recorded “Out of My Mind” song, the sale proceeds of which will be transferred to the fund for Gyumri school rebuilding. In March, 2010, Ian Gillan gave two charitable concerts in Yerevan with State Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia.
USD 250 000 is necessary for building the new school. USD 80 000 is already raised.
