Washington alarmed by Davutoglu’s new ottomanism
More than 251,000 State Department documents leaked by the website WikiLeaks on Sunday. The leaked memos are part of a release that Julian Assange, the chief of the whistleblower website, described as a "diplomatic history of the United States" that would cover "every major issue" as governments braced for damaging revelations.
Turkish “Sondakika” news web site reports those documents have something about Turkey as well.
“U.S. is concerned about Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu’s policy of new ottomanism. According to U.S. diplomats Turkey is slowly moving toward East. Turkey faces certain obstacles to join European Union. Turkey is in a deadlock and reforms matching with EU standards certainly aren’t held there,” Turkish media writes.
