European deputies impressed by film how Azerbaijani annihilate Jugha cross stones
On December 1-2 Brussels hosted the 11th session of European Union-Armenia Parliamentary Co-operation Committee, the agenda of which included a range of issues out of EU cooperation format. Naira Zohrabyan, the head of NA standing Committee on European Integration, had a telephone interview with Panorama.am from Brussels introducing the details and highlights of the meeting.
First, Ms. Zohrabyan said that the European deputies were most interested in changes which are supposed to be made in “Electoral Code”, the reforms in police and judicial systems, as well as topics of Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenian-Turkish ties.
The deputy signified an initiative which Armenian side has taken first time ever.
“I had preliminary agreement with the co-chair of their party and first time ever documentary film titled “Vandals of 21st century. Djuga” was presented in the session of European Parliament. The film tells how Azerbaijani annihilate historic tombs and cross stones of Jugha…I think it’s really impressive when people see the facts themselves,” NA deputy told Panorama.am.
N. Zohrabyan told our reporter that panel discussions were held over Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, particularly, “famous” Bulgarian Kirilov was a delegation member, who has recently presented a resolution on NK full with partial opinions. In this respect one of the European deputies said in his speech that they would be more careful, since what Kirilov had presented, completely “distorts the reality.”
In the aftermath of EU-Armenia Parliamentary Co-operation Committee 11th session a comprehensive statement has been adopted, which, according to Zohrabyan, the deputies would introduce to media as soon as they arrive in Armenia.
