French Armenian film maker and actor Serge Avedikian will embody Sergei Parajanov in the identical film being the co-chair of the film at the same time. In 2010 Avedikian was awarded Palme d'Or from Cannes film festival. In a few days Avedikian will travel to the capital city of Ukraine, Kiev, where preparations are held. The creative group of the film includes co-chairs Olena Fetisova from Ukraine, Roman Balayan, Serge Avedikian.
In a talk with “Radio Liberty” the producer and director of the film Olena Fetisova told they have been ling searching for the person who would embody Sergei Parajanov. The casting was a tough one.
“Why Serge Avedikian…? He’s a fine actor and talented director. He was awarded Palme d'Or in Cannes. Avedikian personally knew Parajanov, they communicated in Tbilisi, if I’m not mistaken it was in 1987,” Fetisova sad.
According to her though Parajanov’s life was a complex, dramatic and contradictory, a ready scenario, it has been very difficult to write it down. And though the process got under way two years ago, still the group doesn’t have any final version. We have three versions, and after discussions with Serge Avedikian one will be chosen.
The film is supposed to be finished in January of 2014. The authors want it to be ready for Parajanov’s 90th jubilee.
