 “Irrespective of the small territory and population, Armenian army is the most professional, educated and clever army of the Caucasus,” Turkish columnist for “Zaman” daily Fikret Ertan writes about Armenian Army.

In his story Ertan writes that some research centers assess Armenian army as the most powerful among three Caucasus armies (Azerbaijani, Georgian). Armenia is not satisfied with that much and thinks of new initiatives. Recently they’ve approved five-year plan for modernizing the armed forces.

The Turkish columnist writes that all those reforms are made to get prepared for the possible Armenian-Azerbaijani clash. Ertal focuses Armenian-Russian military cooperation underscoring the decision to extend the terms of Russian military base to Armenia up to 25 years.

“To conclude, Armenia continues developing its military equipment. And the rivals of Armenia, including us (Turkey), should think carefully of it,” Ertal said.
