Orange continues charitable projects directed to development of rural communities in Armenia
Orange and “Shen” Charitable NGO continue implementing charitable projects, directed to development of rural communities in Armenia. By implementing such projects in the frames of this strategic partnership, Orange and Shen have in the center of their activity the children, their education, health, pre-school and sport education.
In the frames of charitable projects, reoponed the gyms of school N 2 in Noyemberyan city and secondary school in Jujevan village in Tavush region. The gym of Jujevan was restored by the means of USAID, CHF and Shen and the gym of Noyemberyan was restaured by the local community. The gyms were equipped with sport equipments in the frames of the charitable project, directed to development of rural communities in Armenia, implemented by joint efforts of Orange and its strategic partner “Shen” Charitable NGO.
The two gyms, which are equipped with the items and equipments necessary for involvement in different sports, now can fully meet the requirements of the sport program of the schools. Pupils will meet New Year in a quite new sport atmosphere, and starting from the next semester, availability of sprt equipments will not only enable to organaize properly the curriculum, but also create different sport circles and events.
Bruno Duthoit, Orange CEO said: “As a company which plays an important role in the economy of the country, we want to have our investment not only in telecommunication domain, but in other domains as well. We have the children as well as vulnerable rural communities in the center of our charitable projects. The fact that not only “Shen” NGO but the communities as well participated in implementation of the project is very important for us. For us, involvement of the communities is the earnest of viability of the projects we implement”.
Orange has allotted in total 5,607,000 AMD for the realization of the two projects.
In another vollage in Tavush region, Sevqar, the kindergarten of the village was opened about 1 month ago, which hosted 62 children form the first day of its opening. Restoration and furnishing of the kindergarten has been carried out by joint efforts of USAID, CHF, World Vision, UNDP, Orange and “Shen” NGO, as well as by private persons. The community also has actively participated in the works. Orange has allotted in total 4,660,000 AMD especially for furnishing the kindergarten.
Hayk Minsayan, Chairman of the Board of “Shen” said: “Our partnership with Orange started a year ago and since then we have implemented more than ten projects by joint efforts. Our visions meet: Armenia is not only Yerevan, it encompasses also regions and villages. This is why we are happy about this partnership, which has already proved its efficiency and aims to realize new and new projects in future as well”.
