Turkish Deputy PM: On the eve of every April 24 this topic hangs over us
Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Jamil Chichek talked to journalists after ministerial council making his remarks on Armenian Genocide Resolution which is supposed to be included in US Congress agenda.
“On the eve of every April 24 the topic hangs on us. I don’t think it’s right to use it against us,” Turkish State Minister said.
It’s worth reminding that Turkish state officials have carried out the following steps to stop the process over the Armenian Genocide resolution:
• Turkish Ambassador to US Namik Tan made private calls to Congressmen urging to stop the process.
• Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu had telephone conversation with US State Secretary.
• Prime Minister Erdogan sent letter to President Obama calling on not to allow Resolution to appear in Congress plenary agenda.
