Strong earthquake hit Iran leaving 7 dead
Strong 6.5 earthquake hit Iranian southeastern city of Kerman pushing the death toll to 7 and leaving many others injured.
The Head of the national emergency agency, Gholam Reza Masoumi told ISNA that, “initial statistics say the earthquake has claimed lives of 7 individuals so far.”
The earthquake hit the town of Reigan on Monday at 12:24 am local time.
“The precise number of the injured has not been reported yet,” he said.
1800 homes were damaged and some villages faced cut of power and water after the incident. The rescue groups had reached the quake-hit areas although the mountainous places made it difficult for them to pass.
