 Professor Ibrahim Hakkı Yılmaz, who is the rector of University of Igdir, appeared in a news conference with touch critics towards the discussions over their initiative to found a department of Armenian language and literature in the university.

According to “Ermenihaber.am” news web site the professor made his remarks over the case and underscored the significance to found the department the lack of which left state administration without specialists of Armenian.

Yılmaz stated that specialists of Armenian are needed to make researches, studies, thus the university plans to found departments of Persian, Arabic, Georgian, Russia and Armenian.

It’s worth reminding that the Azerbaijani community disliked the initiative, particularly Ismail Agayev, the head of Azerbaijani Diaspora, called it unsuccessful, impetuous and poorly informed. Ibrahim Hakkı Yılmaz declared the Azerbaijani should take his words back or else he would sue to court to punish him.
