Ermenihaber. The role of Armenians in Ottoman classical music
Two books dedicated to the role of Armenians in Ottoman classical music have been published in Istanbul.
According to “Ermenihaber.am” the authors of “Ottoman classical music and Armenians” book are musicians Aram Kerovbian and Altug Yilmaz. And the second book titled “Armenian musicians in classical music” is by Emine Bora.
The publication of the books is supported by St. Savor Armenian hospital foundation of Istanbul and “Istanbul 2010: capital of European culture” agency.
“Ottoman classical music and Armenians” book by Aram Kerovbian is aimed to study the role of Armenians in Ottoman classical music in the background of social-cultural and political contexts.
“Armenian musicians in classical music” covers the biography of 67 Armenian musicians, their lives and creativeness.
