Russian military jet crashed in Tula killing crew members
A Russian military jet crashed overnight on Tuesday in the Tula region south of Moscow. All 12 crewmembers of An-22 plane are dead. The tragic news was confirmed earlier today by the Russian Investigative Committee.
Fuselage fragments have been found 100 kilometers south of Tula. The aircraft was making a scheduled training flight when it dropped off the radar screens at about 21:00 Moscow time on Tuesday.
It is held that the crash could have been caused by some technical malfunction in the plane that had been in operation for 36 years.
