Ohan Durian died at the age of 88
World wide famous Armenian conductor Ohan Durian died today at the age of 88.
Ohan Durian was born on September 8, 1922, in Jerusalem. He was a well-known Armenian conductor. He was the conductor of Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra since 1950's.
He invented a musical system called “Universalism” written down in Rythms only, from which billions of orig inal different musical compositions can be written for all kinds of formations and in all musical styles the humanity has known.
He has also composed several different works for Orchestra and Songs.
Being an oppositioner to Soviet Union, he emigrated to Europe and conducted Oper Leipzig and Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. He directed Moscow Symphonic Orchestra of Stas Namin Center in 2002-2006.
