Azerbaijani authorities yielded. Hijab ban unbanned
Azerbaijani authorities yielded annulling the ban on wearing hijabs in schools, which made religious people and ordinary citizens to panic.
According to “Pia.az”, Minister of Education Misir Mardanov declared on 9 January in a televised show that schoolgirls may wear hijabs if their parents apply to the director of the school.
“To conclude, the forces who forced to ban hijab wearing, ordered Mardanov to yield. Thus Azerbaijan stipulated all those scandals to invite the US and the West to a show that they live in Islamic threat. Azerbaijani authorities use religious factor in favor of their own interests,” Pia.az writes.
