Turkish authorities ban to erect monument dedicated to Hrant Dink
Turkish “Hurriyet” daily published an interview with Mehmed Aksoi, the sculptor of “Statue of Peace”, whose creation is supposed to be scrapped because PM R.T. Erdogan didn’t like it.
According to paper, now Aksoi isn’t allowed to erect another monument dedicated to Hrant Dink’s memory. The new monument is a white pigeon with a broken wing, which the author said symbolizes Dink’s death.
The sculptor said the authorities first agreed with his initiative but later rejected to support his idea.
