Istanbul Prosecutor General denied his own statement
Istanbul Prosecutor General Mustafa Cavushoglu denied his statement that 28 public officials were being interrogated over Dink’s assassination case. Cavushoglu stated that his statement was wrong understood and added that “Currently the new evidences are being studied.”
The news was denied by Turkish Minister of Interior Affairs Beshir Atalay.
Hrant Dink’s lawyer Fethiye Cetin declared on Monday at court hearing of Armenian journalist Hrant Dink’s assassination case which was launched in 2007 that new facts have been revealed which should be taken into consideration.
The investigation will include 28 public officials - former Istanbul Governor Muammer Guler, former Istanbul Police Chief Celalettin Cerrah, former director of the Trabzon Police Department Resat Altay, former head of Intelligence Department of the General Directorate of Security (TNP) Ramazan Akyurek and former commander of the Trabzon Gendarmerie Battalion Colonel Ali Oz following repeated demands from the Dink family lawyers for a new investigation to be launched into several public officials who were allegedly negligent in their duty to protect Dink.
