22% of French concerned about Ankara’s behavior in Armenian and Cypriot issues
Turkish “Hurriyet” daily referring to French “Canal+” TV poll results writes that 36% of French population is for the Turkish membership to EU family.
Compared with the situation in 2002 6% of growth has been recorded to approve Turkish membership. But still 53% of French people are against Turkey’s Euro integration. They underscored several principle differences:
1. Cultural and religious differences (44 %)
2. Turkey is geographically out of Europe (38 %)
3. Failed democracy (32 %)
4. Threat for emigration (24 %)
5. Ankara’s behavior in Armenian and Cypriot issues (22 %)
6. Economic weakness of Turkey (16 %)
