VivaCell-MTS’ introduces HSPA+ network running at 21.6 Mbp/s in Yerevan
The Company has introduced to the market the new MTS Connect Diamond enabling up to 14.4 Mbp/s download speed and MTS Connect E1820 wireless modem enabling up to 21.6 Mbp/s download speed.
March 2, 2011 - VivaCell-MTS announces the continued expansion of HSPA+ services offering pick download speeds up to 21.6 Mbps, in Yerevan. Complementing the network deployment is availability of wireless modems in VivaCell-MTS service centers - MTS Connect Diamond modem enabling up to 14.4 Mbp/s in the downlink and MTS Connect E 1820 modem enabling up to 21.6 Mbp/s in the downlink.
VivaCell-MTS is on track to deliver HSPA+ network in the regions of Armenia as well. Gradually, HSPA+ will be extended to all regions of the country. The deployment of HSPA+ (or Evolved HSPA) network providing up to 21.6 Mbp/s download peak data rate in Yerevan is being done in parallel with testing and further roll-out of 4G/LTE network providing up to 50 Mbp/s in the uplink and up to 150 Mbp/s in the downlink.

As customer demand for wireless data volume and speed increases, VivaCell-MTS will continue broadening up its line of wireless devices in order to enhance the mobile data experience for its customers in HSPA+ and 4G networks.
The 4G/LTE is the logical continuation of the Company’s unsurpassed 3.5G network based on HSPA and HSPA+ technologies. To remind, LTE technology, launched in Yerevan on December 20 into commercial testing, is available only in few countries of the world.
