Levon Aronyan in ‘Amber’
Armenian GM is attending “Amber” the 20th and last tournament being held in Monte Carlo, Monaco. In the first round Armenian GM recorded victories in the both sets against Giri. In the second round Aronyan defeated Nakamura in “blindfold” but shared a point in “rapid” set. Thus, Aronyan scored 2 points in “blindfold” and shares 1-2 places with Alexander Grishchuk but scored 1,5 in “Rapid” tournament and shares 2-4 places with Grishchuk and Gelfand.
Levon Aronyan leads the ranking table as he scored 3,5. Magnus Carlsen and Alexander Grishchuk both have scored the same amount and occupy the second and the third horizontals.
Today, in the third round, Levon Aronyan will meet Magnus Carlsen.
