Turkish citizen with Armenian roots appeals to ECHR against Turkey
32-year-old Armenian Cevat Sinet who is a citizen of Turkey applied to the social services state bureau of Batman in 2010 to get a disability category. “You are Armenian, your nationality is Armenian – Christian, thus you will not be granted a disability category.”
“Ermenihaber.am” news web site writes that Sinet sued the court for such a racism and discrimination. Six months later the court made a decision to leave the case without any changes having found no criminal elements in it.
Sinet appealed the case in the court of Mardin, but was again left without any changes. Sinet is going to submit his case to the European Court of Human Rights.
