90 years ago on March 15 Tehlirian assassinated Talat Pasha
90 years ago on March 15 of 1921 a survivor of Armenian Genocide Soghomon Tehlirian assassinated Talat Pasha in the Charlottenburg District of Berlin, Germany in broad daylight and in the presence of many witnesses.
Vazgen Sislian, the commander of “Van” operation for Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia (ASALA) told the reporters Tuesday that Tehlirian’s act was revenge against those who committed Genocide. He said having commemorated and protested for so long the fight obtained a different character and a national liberation struggle was created which was no longer a revenge.
However, if Operation Nemesis was fully implemented, the issue of Armenian Genocide would be in quite a different level, Armenian Genocide would be recognized world wide. But he says that Turkey is not only demanded to recognize Armenian Genocide, they are demanded to return Western Armenia.
