‘Stop the struggle’ Liberty Square symbol of struggle termination
“168 Hours” weekly writes, referring to March 17 ANC rally, that it has been a breakthrough and caused definite changes in the domestic political life. “…And before entering the Liberty Square and being already there, first president of RA L. Ter-Petrosyan hurried to represent the ANC strategy, which could not be more precisely described than he did himself – a decent deal.” And where else he should declare about it if not in the Liberty Square, which was so friendly open before the participants of the rally.
Thus, the Liberty Square became not only the symbol of struggle, but the symbol of struggle termination….Perhaps, people will continue to attend the rallies knowing that they guarantee ANC presence in the future parliament preparing basis for future let’s say 2013 or 2018 revolutions. Just the slogans need to be changed. For instance, “Later”, “We don’t hurry” for “Now” and “Stop the struggle” instead of “struggle till the end…”
