 The 7th and 8th rounds of “Amber” tournament being held in the city of Monte Carlo took place. Armenian GM Levon Aronyan defeated Boris Gelfand in the “blindfold” and shared a point in the rapid chess. In the eights round Armenian GM met with Anand. First he shared a point in the rapid chess and defeated Anand in the blindfold.

Thus, after the 8th round Armenian chess player scored 6 and leads the blindfold chess, bur occupies the second horizontal in the rapid chess having scored 5,5 points.

Levon Aronyan leads the tournament having 11,5 points on his actives. Carlsen follows him with 11 points, and Anand occupies the third horizontal scoring 8,5.

Today the chess players have a day off. Tomorrow Levon Aronyan will meet with Vladimir Cramnik.
