Ashotyan: ‘Azerbaijan’s Minister of Education must thank me’
Armenian Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan said in a news conference today that he has recently come to an agreement with the Georgian side to resume the Armenian language classes making them 7-8 hours from the beginning of the educational year.
“The agreement that I managed to come will obviously do a favor to the Azerbaijani community, since if they resume Armenian language classes, they will surely resume Azerbaijani classes. Thus, Azerbaijani Minister of Education and Science must thank the Georgian Minister and me also, since I’ve hurried to raise that issue,” Minister Ashotyan said.
Referring to the textbooks, he said it was agreed that the Georgian side would send the preliminary versions of the textbooks translated from Georgian into Armenian in order our specialists could have them edited.
Armen Ashotyan said that last year about 100 Armenian teachers were financed to pass trainings, and added that the project would be continued this year.
“More than 100 teachers will be trained in Georgia,” he said.
