Armenian Prime Minister, Swiss President discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation
Swiss President Micheline Calmy-Rey has met with Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan today on the sidelines of her official visit to Armenia.
The high-ranking guest attended working breakfast, government press office said.
Tigran Sargsyan specified the economic situation in Armenia and measures taken by the Armenian government towards overcoming the consequences of the global financial and economic crisis.
The sides also addressed reforms in Armenia and equal territorial development strategy of the government.
The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the high level of bilateral relations and discussed the possibilities for further cooperation in economy. They mentioned the importance of using the existing potential in tourism, education, information technologies and agriculture.
The sides stressed the necessity of expanding ties between educational institutions of Armenia and Switzerland and implementation of student exchange programs.
In the context of expansion of the Armenian-Swiss cooperation they also discussed the possibility of providing advisory assistance by Switzerland.
The interlocutors also discussed regional issues.
