Asian Development Bank may invest in North-South Railway Project
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received today Asian Development Bank's (ADB) Vice-President Xiaoyu Zhao, according to President’s press office.
The President highly assessed ADB’s activities in Armenia and throughout Asia. He thanked ADB for assisting Armenia in tackling the consequences of the global financial and economic crisis.
Serzh Sargsyan noted that cooperation with ADB seeks to ensure sustainable economic growth and develop infrastructures. He highlighted implementation of major investment projects with bank’s assistance, such as North-South Road Corridor and Armenia: Sustainable Urban Development project aimed at Armenia's territorial development.
The sides also discussed possible assistance by ADB in preparing the North-South Railway Project, creation of infrastructure to promote agricultural exports, and bank’s support for development of small and medium enterprises.
