World Economic Forum: media freedom in Turkey and 135th horizontal for them
Global information technology annual report 2010-2011 has been issued by the World Economic Forum where 138 countries have been classified by freedom of press index as well.
According to Turkish “Akşam”, among 138 countries Turkey is ranked on the 135th horizontal. The list is wrapped up with Iran (136), Libya (137) and Zimbabwe (138). Denmark leads the media freedom list and US occupies the 38th horizontal.
The Turkish publication writes that media freedom is in a better condition in Greece, Armenia and elsewhere, but not in Turkey. Armenia is classified the 125th and precedes Russian Federation.
