Turkish dissident journalist may be sentenced up to 4,5 years
Turkish investigative journalist Nedim Sener, detained in connection with the “Ergenekon” case, appeared at court for his stories unveiling the details of the investigation. Thus, the diffident journalist is threatened to get from 1,5 up to 4,5 years of imprisonment, “Hurriyet” daily writes.
Nedim Sener is the author of two books on renowned journalist and founder of Agos daily Hrant Dink, and was granted the title of “hero of global media freedom” by International Media Institute (IMI).
According to “IMI” 57 journalists are currently detained in Turkey, which makes this country be the first in the world.
