Euronews: People are against the rule of President Ilham Aliyev
The arrest of a 5-year-old Azerbaijani girl captured the attention of the international media. Particularly, “Euronews” writes: “Once again the speed of the internet makes it difficult for governments to hide their actions. A young girl is arrested along with her mother in Azerbaijan crackdown on an attempted anti-government rally in the capital Baku.”
Police detained the little girl and her mother while shouting “freedom”. According to “Euronews” another 65 people were detained in Baku, 25 out of which were soon freed. Azerbaijan’s opposition states that hundreds of people are under police control, including two Swedish journalists.
“People are against the rule of President Ilham Aliyev, who took control of the county after his long serving father Heydar Aliev died in 2003,” Euronews writes.
