For the first time ever Genocide word heard in Istanbul cinema
“Don’t forget me, Istanbul” film premiere took place in the sidelines of Istanbul international film festival. The film is about the stories of people of different nationalities, who are combined by multi-cultural city of Istanbul.
It consists of five feature novels, the authors of which are representatives of different nations – Armenian, Greek, Jew, Palestinian and Turk. Huseyn Karabei is the producer of the project. Laureate of “Golden Apricot” film festival Erik Nazaryan is the author of one part of the film. He tells the story of an Armenian musician from Diaspora who plays oud (musical instrument). The musician comes to Istanbul to find the house-workshop of his grandpa who used to be a famous oud master.
The story of one family tells about the cruel fate of Armenians in Turkey. French-Armenian actor Jacki Nersisian plays the hero of the film. It’s remarkable that for the first time ever “genocide” word was heard from the great premier of the film in Istanbul.
“Golden Apricot” film festival media center informs that the Armenian audience will be granted the chance to view the film during “Golden Apricot” 8th international festival in summer.
