Turkish writer sued for assigning Armenian roots to opposition leader
Turkish writer Suleyman Yesilyurt is sued at Ankara’s prosecutor’s office for his book titled “Kemal, the son of Dersim Armenian Yemus Hanim” which contains insulting in address to “People’s Republic Party” leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu. The plaintiff demands from 1 year and 2 months to 2 years and 4 months punishment for the writer.
Prosecutor Kursat Kairal said that assigning Armenian descent to Kilicdaroglu, the author of the book slandered him and appeared with an attempt to harm his image during the election phase, Turkish “Milliyet” informs.
