Armenia to become general sponsor of 2012 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books
Under the High Patronage of the Armenian President, on the sidelines of the activities marking the 500th anniversary of the Armenian book-printing, this year for the first time Armenia participated in the annual Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, MFA press office reported.
With the support of the Armenian Consulate in Los Angeles and the Armenian Ministry of Culture, co-financed by AGBU, Armenia presented its cultural heritage at the festival – from Narekatsi to collections of books by modern authors.
The Armenian pavilion with its unique design was ranked among the best.
It was announced that UNESCO has proclaimed Yerevan the 2012 World Book Capital.
According to Armenia's Consul General Grigor Hovhannisyan, at the suggestion of the Armenian Ministry of Culture Armenia will become the general sponsor of 2012 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.
