Microsoft Innovation Center opens in Yerevan
Microsoft Innovation Center opened at the State Engineering University of Armenia today.
The opening ceremony was attended by Armenian Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan, Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan, U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie Yovanovitch, Microsoft Armenia Director Grigor Barseghyan, other officials.
Microsoft Innovation Center aims to promote innovations in Armenia, to reveal new ideas and create IT solutions.
According to Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan, “the IT sector is ranked among the most dynamically developing branches of Armenia’s economy. The government focuses its attention on the development of the IT sector, since it has a direct impact on the entire economy.”
Microsoft Innovation Center was established with the support of the Armenian government, Microsoft RA, USAID, Enterprise Incubator Foundation, and the State Engineering University of Armenia.
Upon the completion of the event, Microsoft RA, USAID, Enterprise Incubator Foundation, and the State Engineering University of Armenia signed a Memorandum of Mutual Understanding.
