Armenian Church of St. Diarbekir is being restored
Patriarchal Vicar of Constantinople, Archbishop Aram Ateshian has left for Diarbekir to acquaint with the repairing in Armenian Church of St Diarbekir. Turkish “Sondakika” news website writes Aram Ateshian has had a meeting with the Mayor of City of Suri Abdullah Demirbash and thanked for supporting the activities.
$2,5 million has been needed to restore the 6-century-old church. The foundation of St. Kirakos has financed the restoration of the church.
The restoration activities are supposed to be finished this year. A cross will be placed on the top of the church and a service will be held.
