New facts revealed over Dominique Strauss-Kahn case
New facts have been revealed over the sexual assault case against Dominique Strauss-Kahn, “The Washington Post” writes.
“Wall Street Journal” writes prosecutors are expected to reveal in court that the maid told them she had been the victim of a gang rape in her home country of Guinea, and later admitted that she had made the story up, a person familiar with the matter said.
News that the case against Mr. Strauss-Kahn may collapse sent a shockwave through France similar in magnitude to that on the day of his arrest.
Mr Strauss-Kahn (62), a leading candidate for the French presidency before he was arrested on May 14th, may now be released on his own recognisance and freed from house arrest at a court hearing later today, the paper said.
