A. Iskandaryan: Azerbaijan uses negotiations as pressing tool
“Why nothing happened in Kazan? Nothing happened because it wasn’t planned. And the expectations from the meeting are conditioned by the public mood and concerns. In this phase there are no grounds to anticipate any change in Karabakh issue,” Alexander Iskandaryan, political expert and director of Caucasus Institute said in a news conference.
Referring to the Minsk group format, expert said: “I don’t think it’s possible to change the format of the group. I think Minsk Group implements in duties normally.”
“Nagorno-Karabakh cannot become a formal party to the negotiations because of Azerbaijan, but the issue cannot be resolved without Karabakh either. Azerbaijan uses the negotiations as a pressing tool.”
