New cases of corruption revealed in Azerbaijani army
Three Azeri officers have sent a letter to President Ilham Aliyev to inform him about the corruption incidents that happen in the army, “ANS” news agency informs.
Captain Ramin Hasimov, lieutenant Asker Askerov and subaltern Shakhlar Rzaev, who serve in a military unit located in the province of Beylagan, say the roofs of the barracks have been damaged by severe winds; they informed the commander of the unit, who told them to repair the barracks on their own.
The officers were forced to implement the command, in the aftermath of which they have appeared in difficulties.
The officers call on Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry to take care of the barracks and to repair them. Eldar Sabiroglu, the spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry told local media an investigation has been launched. The Azeri officers have also stated their families are also being pressured by the Commander.
