Neither Azeri servicemen nor civilians are captivated in Artsakh
“There are neither captivated Azeri servicemen nor civilians in Artsakh. Even more about 700 citizens from the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh are lost; 230 out of which are servicemen and 400 are civilians,” Viktor Kocharyan, the head of NKR state committee on captives, those missing and hostages told Panorama.am.
Artsakh official’s remark followed Azerbaijan’s state committee on captives and hostages as releasing a report, which says that 13 Azeri civilians have been captivated by NKR Defense Army and are still kept in Artsakh.
“A great number of hostages are captivated in Azerbaijan. The local authorities don’t allow the International Committee of Red Cross to visit the isolators in national security service and in the army. When any Azeri citizen is captivated we inform the Red Cross and the OSCE envoys. They can visit them whenever they want to. While in Azerbaijan they are not allowed to visit the captives.”
