L. Yunus: Nakhijevan is Turkmenistan of Azerbaijan
The International organizations address more criticism to Azerbaijan over human rights and democratic infringements. Vasif Talibov, the chairman of Nakhijevan’s Supreme Council, is being more referred by some negative moods.
“Azadlig” paper writes Azerbaijani authorities first carry out anti-democratic projects in Nakhijevan and if the case is successful it’s implemented in the country too.
Attorney Leyla Yunus says Nakhijevan serves as an experimental field for the government’s anti-democratic projects. The attorney stated that Nakhijevan is Turkmenistan of Azerbaijan.
“People’s right of meetings is limited in Nakhijevan. Then the phenomenon was spread in Azerbaijan. If once the foreign journalists and diplomats were banned to visit Nakhijevan, now they are banned to visit Azerbaijan.”
