World War II bomb revealed in Mineralniye Vody Russian airport
All the flights to and from Mineralniye Vody airport in south Russia have been cancelled after construction workers found a World War II bomb close to the takeoff and landing strip, “Ria Novosti” quotes the airport's press office as reporting.
"Our construction workers dug a pit and came across a bomb at a depth of about 1.5 meters at about 11 hours in the morning (on Sunday) some 40-50 meters away from the takeoff and landing strip," the press office said.
The airport has been closed for incoming and outcoming flights since 12:30 p.m. Passengers are staying at the airport, the press office said.
