Mourinho likely to escape ban
Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho probably will not be disciplined next week for his role in the Spanish Supercup brawl, according to AP.
Mourinho put his finger in the eye of Barcelona assistant coach Tito Vilanova. Vilanova then slapped the Madrid coach on the head.
Referee David Fernandez Borbalan did not include those details in his match report, meaning Mourinho and Vilanova are unlikely to be banned by the disciplinary committee.
Barcelona's players labeled Madrid a "disgrace" while Gerard Pique said Mourinho was "destroying Spanish football." Mourinho contends "somebody provoked the situation, and it certainly wasn't a player from Real Madrid."
