Ermenihaber.am news website reports that new details have been revealed about the assassination of Agos newspaper’s editor-in-chief Hrant Dink. A Samsun gendarmerie top military officer told that after killing Dink, Ogun Samast reached Trabzon, accompanied by police officers.

“He was sitting on the bus heading to Trabzon, with Istanbul security officers sitting opposite, beside and behind him. From Istanbul, they had been keeping an eye on Samast. As the bus stopped and the doors opened, Istanbul security officers burst in and arrested Samast. They even knew exactly where Samast was sitting,” the officer noted. He said he himself saw the police officers who were accompanying Samast.

According to Dink's lawyer, Fethiye Cetin, suspicion falls on Istanbul security service.

“We will go to the Prosecutor’s Office. The gendarmerie officer should give testimony at the Prosecutor’s Office.”

“Why didn’t they arrest the assassin in Istanbul? The answer is clear – because Istanbul security service wanted to get rid of responsibility,” Fethiye Cetin said.
