President Serzh Sargsyan to head award giving ceremony
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Armenia’s Independence President Serzh Sargsyan awarded today representatives of Diaspora, science, education, health and economy fields, servicemen of armed forces, and diplomats for their contribution to serving motherland, for their achievements and successes in their fields.
At the President’s Palace President Serzh Sargsyan awarded writer and publicist Meruzhan Ter-Gulanyan with Mesrop Mashtots medal.
“Our nation survived hard days within millenniums and reached this day having not changed its nature, keeping faithful to its traditions, principles, language and culture,” said M. Ter-Gulanyan.
For contribution in the television field Susanna Shahinyan has been awarded. “Not everybody is happy to get such award from the President. I’m very grateful to our President to be granted this award on the eve of the 20th anniversary of Armenia’s Independence and for giving a high assessment to my experience,” said Mrs. Shahinyan to Panorama.am reporter.
Title of honorable artist has been granted to Gayane Hovhannisyan, duduk (national Armenian musical instrument) player Armen Grigoryan, medal of Movses Khorenatsi has been awarded to Armine Sargsyan, the director of history museum of Yerevan.
The editor-in-chief of “Marmara” daily Rober Hattechian has also been awarded: “When the servicemen where receiving their awards they said “serving to Republic of Armenia”, I’d like to say that all of us serve to the Republic of Armenia.”
