Areni village to host Wine Festival
The Armenian village of Areni will host the Third Annual Wine Festival today. Tourists, statesmen, ordinary citizens will arrive in the village to attend the festival. The program of events includes traditional dancing, singing, food making and tasting, winemaking and tasting, traditional games and contests.
In the previous years, the Wine Festival was attended by 2500-3000 people, this year the number of guests is expected to reach 5000, including tourists from Russia, Ukraine, Estonia, Spain, France.
Out of around 540 home farms of Areni, 80 will participate in the festival, presenting wines in separate pavilions. The festival hosts 8 wine making companies from Armenia and 7 from Artsakh.
Serge Ghukasyan from Marseille will hold master classes for Armenian wine makers on October 10.
The Wine Festival, supported by the government, will be held in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy.
